Most people are familiar with boxed wines or Bag-in-Box (BiB), as it is formally known. BiB is a registered trademark of Smurfit Kappa, a company of Irish origin. This technology was developed by NASA and offers a flexible, waterproof bag, surrounded by a carton and equipped with a tap. It can contain all kinds of liquids. The wine is protected from oxygen and retains its qualities for eight weeks after opening.
MYWAH has chosen to use a different type of bag. Namely, Bag Innov®, developed by Nicolas Aiguille in Narbonne. Stronger than the traditional BiB, our bag does not need to be contained in a carton. It is equipped with an RFID chip that transmits data to a server (i.e. opening of the bag, wine SKU, number of glasses served, time stamps, etc.) that enables the hospitality industry to optimize their profitability around their sale of wine.
